The western world wasn't against liberating Afghanistan as that's where the Taliban were helping the terrorist network training in camps.
Once the Taliban gone, the standards of living went up.
The Taliban were provoking the west, helped those who organized the attacks, it was interfering with our lives, so it's a good thing they were stopped.
