If the danger doesn't come from ICBM's but from bombs smuggled (by boat for instance) inside a country , then the terrorist organizations that have networks all over the place are much more dangerous today than Saddam is. Saddam is not moving out of Iraq. This is why getting rid of Al Qaeda is considered a bigger priority by so many and this is also why the US needs cooperation from the rest of the world.
The actual white house administration's image it's projecting abroad doesn't help. The Germans are badly needed as, as we know, terrorists got themselves organized over there and many are possibly dormant over here and waiting for the next opportunity. There must also be full cooperation with the Russians and the Ukrainians about possible commerce of plutonium leaving their country for who knows where.... I just hope the US won't snub the UN and all the traditional allies. Because the enemy isn't necessarily in the desert, completely exposed and easy targets for bombs, but also in our cities and keeping quiet.
