The big concern with Saddam and WMD...
isn't that he'd openly attack the US or Europe. Instead, the fear is that he'll either do it through clandestine means or more likely, provide the weapons to terrorist groups like Al Qaeda. Tracing a terrorist attack back to the source can be difficult and time consuming, as in the case of Pam Am 103 or last year's anthrax attacks. Saddam has proven himself willing to use WMD against his neighbors and even his own people. He wouldn't have any hesitation about using them against the US, Europe, and especially not Israel.
