I do choose to listen, but I have yet to hear any real justification for war on Iraq, neither from any American citizen, nor from any politician, nor from any warrior.
So just what are those "good reasons" you mention?
Weapons of mass destruction?
How can we be so hypocritical as to single out Iraq for punishment when a whole raft of countries have the infamous WMD, including Israel.
Violations of U.N. Security Council resolutions?
Again, Israel has ignored numerous such resolutions, as have other countries.
Congress may be for war, but I seriously doubt that the American people are. I refer you to my previous post concerning the informal poll conducted by Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office. In it, callers to the Senator's office were overwhelmingly opposed to war, by margins which were as high as 50-1 against war.
You may want to continue down a couple posts in that thread to read the question by Alcaray and response by D. Spires concerning that 70% number you use; that dog don't hunt.
Finally, I would just note in passing that a nation must possess casus belli (cause for war) before it initiates hostilities, not after.
Now it may be that there is a valid reason, a casus belli for waging war on Iraq, but so far, I have not heard it.
