Oh, what tangled web - - -

The implications of this, at least for Florida, are amazing!!

Circuit “Judge Belvin Perry ruled Monday that four drug rehab workers aren't required to tell investigators whether Noelle Bush, 25, was found with a piece of crack cocaine in her shoe last month.

“In a case closely watched by drug counselors nationwide, Perry ruled that a drug treatment patient's right to privacy outweighs the interest of a criminal investigation.”

She’s in treatment instead of jail on a drug charge. She had to sign a Release of Information for the staff to the court in order to attend. That would include any new illegal activity, ESPECIALLY involving illegal drugs.

But, it turns out that she can possess drugs which are illegal and against the facility policy while in treatment and the staff can’t tell the court. Could, but not if their bosses tell them not to.

If that holds, then none of the people in treatment in Florida as the result of court orders who test positive on urinalysis drug screens will go back to jail. None of the DUIs who drink again will have problems if the treatment staff catches them.

I’ll bet there are hundreds upon hundreds, thousands of people in treatment who will pounce on this like a flea on a fat dog. Treatment will become a “use all you want free” sort of place.

All to protect a Governor’s daughter from one charge. And with her attitude, she'll do it again, won't stay protected for very long. Why screw up the system just to "help" her this one time?

What do you want to bet the Gov's in on this fix?

Kinda makes even Mississippi look good, doesn’t it?

Arf (it's the consequences (accountability) which makes for change) But I digress. Conservatives aren't accountable.
