The thing that catches my attention is not the random cross-section of victims but the report that there is a driver.
I'm no forensic specialist, but I believe that, in the phrase "lone gunman", the adjective is every bit as significant as the noun as a predictor of the criminal's next move.
We are doubtless dealing with a sociopath, but if there are two, it's a conspiracy. Maybe only of two, as at Columbine. Maybe more.
So far, I have read about only one report published from any witness that places two actors at the scene. The credible tips run, I read, well into the hundreds, and the public doesn't know their contents.
We'll let the police do their jobs. Let's see how well all the agencies co-operate when the action is in the FBI's and BATF's backyard.
