Was Fisk asleep when Iraq agreed to surrender that measure of sovereignty after the Gulf War??
What an amazingly ignorant article. Everybody knows that Iraq, the aggressor and the defeated party in the Gulf War, agreed to UN imposed conditions necessary to rid Iraq of any and all WMD. They can't claim back aspects of their national sovereignty they agreed to forfeit after the Gulf War.
This is akin to defeated Nazi Germany announcing in 1946 that all allied troops on their soil have to get out. It's nonsense, and it ignores historical facts, and the hard but unavoidable consequences for the vanquished aggressor in the conflict.
This all points strongly to the fact that the Gulf War never really ended, and a deacde later we're finally getting ready to put an end to it now. Finally!
