Ok, yes; in 1984, my uncle had kidney and lung cancer and was asked if he would volunteer to try a new method of healing cancer, using interferon. He accepted. We all knew the chances were very remote and he died 3 months after detecting the cancer. If it helped the doctors understand the disease and its cure, better, it was alright.
