Enormous debt does scare me but I do agree with you that a balanced budget should wait until after the economy is out of the toilet. When we again have positive economic growth, I believe there should be a constitutional amendment forcing a balanced budget except in time of extreme national peril. The politicians have removed all doubt that they have to be forced by law to balance the budget.
