Castro clearly WANTED a nuclear war with the United States during the Cuban missile crisis...And he was happy to see it fought out on the beaches of his beloved Cuba...
The Soviets were so terror struck by Castro's ignorance of what such a nuclear holocaust would mean...that they were more than happy to pull their nukes out of Cuba.
