Thanks! I did not have this information when I posted, but the political bias of the American press is so solidly predictable, that I knew almost with certainty that these guys were not Caucasian. The arrest was witnessed by a number of people, and the general descriptions of the men arrested were not a police secret.

To elaborate: The Left is dying to see this sniper turn out to be a white "right wing" militia-type. If he turns out to be ex-military, that would just be icing on the cake. Press notice was taken of a Marine Corps sticker on the van, and rumors were circulating about a Bush bumper sticker on the back. You could just see the press salivating.

If these two guys had been white, it would have been in every last news story. The deafening silence on the descriptions was all I needed to know. For the record, this pattern has been generally true of any crime story in American newspapers.

And no, the race is not relevant, unless we are talking Middle Eastern, which would raise important questions. In any case, it does not appear that these guys are directly related to the sniper.
