Partisan to the bitter end

<Why Mary Anne is already forced to shred records like Nixon or Hillary, just to keep them out of the Feds hands.

I didn't bring this up at the time, though I thought of it, because I didn't want to politicize what for me is a serious issue concerning matters on a much higher plain than partisan politics, but alas...

You have forgotten Oliver North, Fawn Hall, and the Iran-Contra Follies.

Those records, like the ones destroyed by the Nixon White House, actually belonged to the Federal government.

I'm not sure to which of Hillary's records you refer, but if they were the ones that were eventually sub poenaed, they became subject to the rules of evidence once the paper left the bench.

All three of those actions are illegal.

Library records belong jointly to the library and the patron whose records they are. Period. Once librarians have discharged their obligations to safeguard the collection and to serve the patron, they relinquish custody of the records by eliminating them. That leaves the patron with the only remaining record, should he or she decide to keep it.

And no one shreds things like that anymore. They just don't save them.

Regards--
Mary Anne
