Re: Dems Win Mid Term Elections! Big deal.

I hate to throw cold water on a good, fizzy rant, but historically the party not holding the Presidency has almost always made major gains in off-year elections in the House and Senate. For the Democrats to only "hang on" to their current position, or even lose seats, especially given the perceived economic problems, would be difficult to interpret as anything but a major blow to the Democratic Party.

And might I also point out, yet again, that when the Democrats hold the Presidency and control of both Houses, as they have quite a few times, they don't seem to have nearly as much concern about "having all the reins of power in their hands," or the "immeasurable damage" they and their left-wing cohorts can do under those circumstances, like increasing entitlements to the point of national bankruptcy, appeasing dictators, wrecking the private sector, crippling national security, or whatever the latest item is in their socialist agenda.

Absolute power is just fine, apparently, as long as the "right guys" are in charge. So let's not insult anyone's intelligence by pretending that the Left is actually worried about lack of "balance" in government, okay?
