If the WTC had been destroyed by Christians in the name of Christianity, the pope would have likely issued a strong condemnation.
We have heard too much "yes but" from the leaders of the Islamic community, so we keep waiting for them to properly and loudly condemn the actions of militant Islam. An example of what we might expect and what we haven't heard is the condemnation issued by Indonesian Muslims after the Bali incident.
If they had properly reacted to 911 we might not be looking for further apologies.
