He was on the Manifest: CNN
EVELETH, Minnesota (CNN) -- A small plane belonging to Sen. Paul Wellstone crashed Friday about seven miles east of Eveleth-Virginia Municipal Airport, authorities said.
Eight people were reported aboard the plane, but officials did not know if Wellstone was among them.
The plane is a twin-engine turboprop King Air manufactured by Raytheon Aircraft.
CNN's John King reported that White House sources confirmed there were fatalities in the accident -- and that Sen. Wellstone was on the plane's manifest.
