A lot of us liberals would prefer to make that decision ourselves, rather than have some foreign "power" do it for us.

Make that decision in the good ol' US of A, an American decision by the American powers that be inside the American political system. Sort of a tradition of us liberals.

For conservatives, for whom the ends justify the means, terrorists shutting down something like Amtrak they didn't like would seem to be just fine. If I read the man (term loosely used) correctly.
