Geography is not going to anchor the average career move, and if it did, the average career opportunist would have been studying geography, not how to color charts in MS Windows Excel.
I'd like to see a random test that actually shows what is important to Palestinian, German, Japanese, Polynesian, U.S. American, Peruvian, Kenyan, et al, groups. Proper tests might then be run about who needs to learn what. Geography has been harped upon THE need-to-know course for burger-flippers far too long.
