Have you seen the women that often work security...
The women may be better off with men performing the strip search.
;-)
Seriously...it depends whose on shift, how many personnel are available, etc. I'd love to hear the airline and airports side of the story. With a one-sided statement put to the media - the ACLU is doing what they do best, trying to already create public support, trying the case in the press, often attempting to contaminate any jury pool.
I don't think security personnel are perfect - but in that tense, stressful environment each statement, action and impression is extremely important.
How would you like to be the security guard that finds out later he has let a terrorist slide through and kill a plane full of men, women and children?
Naturally, to avoid this scenario you would opt on the side of zealous over-searching. I know I would.
But yes, I am sure many firms are trying to make sure they hire more women for just this type of scenario. However security personnel are statistically male.
