Cynical and dishonest

Now you may decide that it's better for Saddam, a proven psychopath, to have atomic bombs and the means to deliver them to Israel, or bioweapons and the means to deliver them to terrorist networks, than for America to take him out. That's up to you and your political upbringing.

You can pretend that it's only about oil if it makes you feel better, but you can't pretend there is any other alternative.

Tom, I sure wish you'd knock off this crap of telling people what they believe. You're never right, and you only make yourself look foolish.

That out of the way...

What makes Bush's pretext for war so cynical is that if he has proof to back up his certainty, he could just release it and spare the world this sham. The old excuse about "protecting sources" doesn't wash when the stakes are this high. President Kennedy chose to reveal the U2 and its capabilities during the Cuban Missile Crisis because he had a sense of proportion and understood his responsibility.

I can only conclude that Bush is lying through his teeth. He has no proof, he's afraid that the inspections won't give him the excuse he needs, and so he's campaigning to preemptively discredit the inspections to ensure that he gets his war. Bush is being dishonest with America and the world.

You're baffled that so many people have so little respect for CEO Bush? He's cooking the "war books" the same way he cooked the books at Harken. The little monkey wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in the ass.
