You brought up something that hadn't even occured to me: bin Laden's money. His status, either alive or dead, would probably affect the disbursement of his money, and there may be financial reasons the terrorist organization may need to keep him "alive" to have access to his fortune. Kind of like that movie where they pretend someone is still alive so the pension checks keep rolling in.
