I suppose, sitting in a think tank in Cairo, or an ivory tower in Kuwait City, it's easy to advocate regime change in Iraq.
It would be most fascinating to get an honest, street-level Iraqi response...but given Saddam's grip on the nation, is that even a remote possibility?
I know, Bowser, you sincerely beleive we will confiscate Iraqi wealth...but I truly beleive the opposite--that there cannot be any real Iraqi wealth until Saddam is gone and their nation returns from Stalinism to sanity.
I also beleive that the US is a tough but ultimately fair international player, and that we'll properly compensate Iraq for it's oil...in fact, I think we'll work very hard to reintegrate a rejuvinated Iraqi economy with the ROW.
