The DOJ can be sued for information. However, the Feds have unlimited funds to thwart those requests.
For example, the courts have ruled over and over that Cheney HAS to come up with certain of the papers regarding his energy policy.
And they don't do it.
So, in some respects one has to trust their government to act in good faith and the Department of Justice to see the laws are upheld.
They don't, and some of us, who can see, remember, track and have an interest, know that.
