How can killing be good and "the only option" for some and yet even the insinuation of torture be bad for others?

Are you finally admitting the US are the good guys and the Islamic terrorists are bad guys and need to be held to different standards of behavior?

The same distinction can be made about the police and the criminal - both shoot people and use guns. However one uses the technique to maintain order and peace and the other does it to disrupt that same peace and serve their own selfish ends.

Is this practice equitable? Should police be kept from using guns simply because the bad guys use them?

Of course not.

These Newsweek articles which consult Bob Woodward are bound to take the leftist, anti-GOP slant.

It's a piece filled with no real facts and a whole plethora of unsubstantiated "anonymous" quotes - likely made up by the writers. When you have more than three unnamed sources in an article that small you have to wonder how much is real and how much is pie-in-the-sky fantasy made up to try and make the Bush administration look bad or somehow unethical.

Newsweek tries - but fails.
