Speeded up tax reductions! RETROACTIVE tax reductions! I was worried about timidity and "compromise," but it sounds like Bush is going for the works. He is well aware that the crap he is going to get would have been not one whit less if he had gone for half-assed, lukewarm, "bipartisan" approaches.

Retroactive unemployment extensions and other benefits for the unemployed are included, but I can still hear Democrats' outraged heads exploding in Washington from here, and the rumbling of thousands of feet as the leftist media heads for the mattresses. If you think you've seen high rhetoric up until now, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet. If you read only the New York Times, George W. Bush is about to become the most hated man in the Western hemisphere.

This is going to be a HOOT! At least we're going to have a real battle now. I love it when the philosophical lines are clearly drawn.
