From Fox News. Another article here.
It has been clear for a long time now that Democrats do not take losing an election lightly, and will resort to whatever means they can manage short of outright armed insurrection to reverse it. Despite all the desperate attempts by the Left to rewrite history, the 2000 election in Florida was a premeditated, all-out attack by Gore, the Democrats, and their legal teams on the electoral process in that state, which was thwarted only when the Republicans woke up in time and responded in full force.
Then by bribing a Senator to switch parties, they stripped the Republicans of control of the Senate. Now they will squat on the committees using whatever parliamentary tricks are required, and this is only the start.*
If I were in a nasty mood, I would say that deep inside they are immensely frustrated at having to go through the election process at all, and having to be subservient to their inferiors in the electorate, when it is patently obvious that they should be leading. And secretly they are probably envious of their great socialist heroes who simply machine-gunned their opposition and tipped them into lime pits.
It goes without saying that were the numbers in the Senate reversed, with the Democrats holding the slim majority, that pigs would fly at Mach 5 before the Democrats would have given Republicans an equal shot at the funding. "Bipartisanism" is a word only heard when a Democrat is losing a fight.
*As another example, Hillary's cheap shot at Frist on the first day of session was noted by many. After arranging the unemployment extension bill details ahead of time, it went to the floor, and the Democrats, led by Hillary and Byrd, turned around and almost literally spat in Frist's eye by adding a surprise amendment. The resulting chaos eventually led to a Republican victory, but we could see where the lines were drawn, and who was wearing the wideankled pants in the Democratic Party.
Obstructionism. Same old, same old.
