You would be amazed at the conservatives that help the poor, hungry and homeless with private donations through their church.
My conservative church (about 300 members) helped almost 80 homeless families last year. We helped the parents get jobs, helped house them, and helped cloth and feed them and their children. Most are successfully living on their own now. We used the “Teach them to fish…” approach.
We also went in with some neighborhood churches and sent several van full of people down to Mexico. There, us conservatives helped the poor in Mexico.
