Did YOU manage to miss the first sentence of the post too? Should have boldfaced it, I guess.
Grassroots organizations of a wide and disparate variety are behind the peace movement, and more are joining daily, but most of the marchers really don't know, and couldn't care less who organized any particular march.
I showed you the "grassroots movement." As for the second sentence, that's painfully obvious. Check out the term, "useful idiot."
Those who take to the streets are certainly not beholden to anyone or anything other than their own honest desire to speak out against the plans for war. That's the common thread which unites those who march, no matter who secured the original permit, who tries to take credit for it, or who is accused of being an "America-hater."
This is a hoot, considering the immediate suspicion that people like you throw on pro-capitalist or similar conservative demonstrations, assuming as a given that they are mindless idiots in the pay of corporate hacks or politicians, and that the entire demonstration is a trumped-up pile of phoniness. Ah well...
So I assume you WOULD attend an antiwar demonstration thrown by the American Nazi Party? After all, if YOUR motives are pure, who cares who set the whole thing up, or why?

- Yes, Virginia. The weekend protests were organized by America-haters and communists.
- Tom, all you will get is more dodging from the left on this.
- Ah, good old Lileks.
- (Good Job Tom!*) Communists are heading out as human shields
- If I had been at the rally
- "America haters?"
- Mindless jingoism at it's very worst.
