<Ignoring the stupidity of your "face it" comment, Keynesian economics gives recognition to NOT having tax cuts when their are surpluses, precisely so you CAN have those cuts to stimulate the economy, when it runs soft.
That's got to be the dumbest thing I ever heard, and I'm not surprised that jackass Keynes came up with it. A surplus means that the government has more of my money than it needs, and by God I want it back. I wouldn't accept that crap from any private industry, why accept it from government? And it's not like the government "saves" the surplus or "invests" it in anything that actually creates wealth, to be used later. It spends every damn bit it can get its hands on. California sure did, almost to the nickel, until it overran the surprise revenue turnaround.
Maybe you don't remember all the "great things" the Democrats were going to spend the surplus on, instead of returning it to taxpayers. Sure as hell it wouldn't end up paying off any debt.
And anyway, even if you believe Keynes, the economy is soft now. Where's my tax cut? Thought so.
