I am sorry that you personally came over twice to save our derrieres. After all, Belgium is such a large country that we can easily defend ourselves against outrl arger German neighbours.
It must have been painful for you, especially now in your old age (what are you, 104?) to see us poor Europeans actually disagreeing with you over whether we have the right to invade another territory without provocation.
Instead we should be doffing our caps, nay, kneeling, nay, prostrating ourselves at the feet of every American we see, saying "Thank you Sir, may I have another" as you walk over us. Never mind that both times you came late - and at the request of the British rather than us Old Europeans.
