If you don't go along with the American Right and you're an American, you're a treasonous fiend. Or you are the dupe of treasonous fiends who can't be trusted to tie your own shoes properly.

If you don't go along with the American Right and you're European, you are an anti-American Euro-bigot or a cowardly Euro-weenie.

You can't possibly have a brain in your head or a brave bone in your body. You can't possibly have a motive outside of treachery, stupidity or cowardice, because the American Right can't understand any other motive and the American Right Knows All And Sees All.

This is the sum and substance of the ranting I've read here recently. I've come to believe that people have gotten to the "anger" part of grief over the Columbia accident and, unable to express it in other ways, have decided to holler and scream at the favorite targets of choice.

And when called on it, remark on the thin skins of the targets.

The smell of blood in the air has added to the frenzy.

Oops, sorry. I guess I remarked on it, didn't I? Not the Code of the West.
