Please note any posts where someone on this board has been called a traitor, enabler, or anything along those lines.* I myself have tried to be good, but I do get pissy now and then. I have cheerfully pointed out when I think someone is full of shit, but that's not quite the same thing.
Mary Anne's favorite technique is to wait for me to fire a broadside at a specific target and then go stand in front of it and get indignant about being splattered. I have, for example, made much of the organization behind the major peace protests (ANSWER) being a politically-motivated group of hard-line anti-American communists--which they are--and suddenly I'm calling everyone who ever wore a button and marched down Main Street a hard-line anti-American communist.
Unlike a lot of others, I believe that the motivations of the organizers are an important issue, and that people who oppose the war for more benign reason need to take this into account. If the organizers were Nazis, you can bet people wouldn't be brushing it off like they do.
On a more pragmatic note, I'm sorry, but after eight years of dead silence from all these anti-war groups while Clinton took bombers and troops all over the globe (without so much as a by-your-leave from the U.N.), it gets pretty hard so see anything other than political motivations in some of this.
* Okay, okay. Other than Ed.
