What's their interest in that?
I read everywhere we won't get any oil from Iraq once the US will have ousted Saddam.
We have a lot more to loose from not taking part to it and we still are aimed by terrorists.
We have nothing to gain
Also, we said no to Turkey because we don't want to get into a logic of war that doesn't exist yet. and we don't want to give the impression there's no more alternative to war.
Also, Spain is the EU country where its public opinion is most hostile to war : less than 10% favor it.
Havel signed the paper without consulting anybody; Portuguese's prime minister didn't inform the Portuguese president. In Poland, 80% oppose war. And in Turkey, 96% don't want war.
Looks like the Old Europe's governements are closer to their public opinion.
Inspite of all the hostility from the huge majority of the UN members, there will be war the day Caeser decides it is thumb's down.
