Despite it being irrelevant to anything in this thread.
See if you can do better than my research which says, for example:
UK: 23,000 rapes/indecent assaults reported to police in 1999 (Guardian)
USA: 132,000 rapes/indecent assaults reported per year. (NOW)
i.e. fairly comparable, though a higher rate of incidence in US.
Just found 1999 statistics for violent crimes against women:
2.5 % US, 3.3% UK.
(Oh, just for fun, and at a similar tangent to the one you took, lets take something else instead.
Homicides in London in 1999 - 2.4/100000
DC - 46.2/100000)
US's crime rate has been falling for years though, while Europe's is currently stagnant ( plus or minus a couple of percent) after peaking in mid-1990s.
Don't tell me you are just buying into the hype of increasing crime in Europe?
cheers,
Tony
