Hi Mary Anne,
1) I'm unsure, based on the presentation, whether the stats on prostitution in the US only pertain to actual rings of kidnappers and purchasing agents, or if they also include the "independent" pimps who set up with the "free" labor market of child and adolescent runaways, and women seduced into prostitution. Which is it?
Probably the former. Runaways and "volunteers" would generally be a slightly different classification.
However you undercut jab was felt and recorded. ;-)
2) Wouldn't it be more realistic to compare knife violence in Europe to gun violence in America? To control for the weapon of choice in the regions compared appears to make more sense to me.
Regards--
Mary Anne
Well the point I was trying to make is that the influx of muslims in the EU has almiost singlehandedly stratospherically elevated several particular crimes:
1) abuse against women.
2) knife related violence.
The gun crimes in the US are not a faith-based or foreign culture manifestation - but are much broader. For this thread, it seemed appropriate to go after crime increases specific to those who adhere to certain faiths.
Thanks for adding your five cents - would love to hear twenty cents worth.
;-)
