( Can get away with calling peacenik types "traitors" around here, but apparently can't say pro-war)

Can't be Saddam's treatment of the Iraqi people - he was executing, gassing, bombing em back in the friends-with-Ronald-and-Donald days.

Can't be links to terrorism - there were "bomb Iraq now" noises coming out of the administration before 9/11, and the Al Qaeda link has still to appear.
Scott's mention of giving a terrorist a dirty bomb would fall into this category.

Possibly WMD - though no-one knows whether these exist (well, WE do, but WE ain't telling).

What is the driving force behind it?

My guess - making up for past mistakes, which is why Sadaam is number one on the Bush shit-list.
