Why can't it be your choice of excluded motives?
The unfinished business, combined with not allowing another nation-state to go the way of Afghanistan, is actually pretty good for me.
The fact that people prior to 911 saw the dangers of saddam in no way excludes the 911 thinking as a good rationale.
