The same things were said about Afghanistan. Remember the Northern Alliance, and how that would run the country after the US rebuilt it? And do you know what's happening now?

(Ans. Nothing, except an American puppet president. No democracy, limited womens rights except in large cities. Warlords running the vast majority of the country. NOT what Bush promised them.)

Iraq is a country with many factions who don't get along, and the current regime doesn't control much of the country. Without a strong central government it will blow apart.

The prerequisites for democracy are a FREE press, educated, literate population, and common culture which can allow for minorities. Look at Germany and Japan.

Ain't there in Iraq.

But people still believe, despite reason, logic and experience.
