I’m very much in favor of alleviating the pain and suffering in this world, but that’s not possible with bloody tyrants like Saddam Hussein being left perfectly free to wield power in Iraq and elsewhere. The Iraqi people won’t be free and have a true chance at a better future until we act aggressively, with their help I might add, to completely wipe out Saddam’s evil regime. And the world itself will be a little safer as well when the deed is done.

The common goal we should all be working towards is the establishment of free, democratic, civilized nations in this world. These are the enlightened political and social arrangements under which people can truly prosper.

Unfortunately, this goal can’t be attained unless we deal forcefully with the barbarians out there who oppose it.
