Well, calling them terrorists was debated before september 11th- some news agencies thought that term was a biased one... sorry but if you are a halfway decent civilized human being then you call these subhuman animals "terrorists"!

I am a little tired of these "Islam is Love" postings... I used to say these extremists were as representative of islam as Falwells comments were representative of christianity.... Well, now I am sick and tired of defending them... The remarkable silence worldwide from muslim leaders makes it impossible to defend them... I am sure that most muslims are peaceful decent people- but when the islamic leaders say nothing, or even worse say "yes terrorism is bad, but you have to understand where they are coming from..." I say bullshit! No we do not have ANY obligation to understand these animals! And even if we did, what good would it do? Is there one damn thing we could do, other than wiping them out, that would stop them from trying to destroy us? NO!

Sure we have made mistakes that have increased anger at the US among muslims... none of those mistakes justify the terrorist acts. Sept. 11th happened not because of any of those mistakes, but because a religious NUT was offended that we had troops in Saudi Arabi AT THE SAUDI'S REQUEST!

So, in short there is NO moral relativism possible here... These terrorists are very much "evil". Nothing you can do will change their beliefs or actions except to kill them or lock them up. We may not always be the "good guys" but even at our worst we are infinitely better than these creatures. I have NO patience for those that whine that all this is our fault somehow... Our greatest sin that led to this situation is that we are civilized and free... oh and we also dont treat our women as animals...

I will agree that poverty and hopelessness makes terrorism flourish... But the backwardness of these countries is more the fault of repressive theocratic governments...
