<You should have this discussion with someone who thinks we should "just leave Saddam alone...". If you can find one.
Name one single working alternative between military force, and leaving Saddam alone.
Just one.
When interviewers ask this question of protesters who insist "Saddam has got to go" (a sentiment that somehow never gets to the signs or chants), you can hear the audible splat of their brains hitting a mental wall. They may blurt out "inspections?" but when asked to clarify how inspections alone can disarm a murderous tyrant, they blank out again. They have nothing. Nobody on this board has been able to come up with anything. I've popped this question a dozen times, and gotten no workable reply.
Go ahead. Recommend sanctions.
