If your household budget goes up by a third while your income does not, it won't impress your family if you tell them it hasn't gone up by much since then. You're still going into the hole a lot faster than you were before.
In the CBO analysis of Obama's budget and proposals (you did look at it, right?), the smallest deficit in the next ten years will be $488 billion in 2017. After that, the deficits will climb again. In 2022 they'll be at $728 billion and still rising.
I wish I could pull up the old posts where liberals rent their garments over Bush's $400 billion deficits.
In his one term, Obama will add more public debt than Bush did in two. No matter how you deal 2009 from the bottom of the deck.
By the way, have you ever heard me describe Republican spending bloat (mostly since Gingrich left Congress) in anything other than negative terms?
