Like the man said in the article, "check the official numbers at the Office of Management and Budget."
In constant 2005 dollars, estimated 2012 revenues ($2.09 trillion) are only $220 billion less than the supposedly enormous revenues in the Democratic Great Clinton Tax Rate and Surplus Year of 2000 ($2.31 trillion).
Only eight years in our history had higher revenues than the 2012 estimate, half during Clinton's years, and half during Bush's.
The historical record high revenues, $2.41 trillion in 2007 (under Bush's tax rates) are only $324 billion higher than this year's.
How many times do I have to repeat this? We are bringing in plenty of money. The current revenues in constant dollars would have us in surplus for every year prior to 2001.
We are spending too much.
But hey, we have a horde of massive tax increase that will automatically go into effect in 2013 unless somebody passes a law to stop them. All Obama has to do is sit tight, and he'll get all those nice high taxes he says he wants. Think he'll do it this time? Like he didn't in 2010?

Horse apples.
The whole thread (24 posts)
- Exactly how much has Obama increased government spending?
- Well. Three "Pinocchios" from the Washington Post.
- So, it's all about the "growth?" What about the actual amount?
