Fast analysis:

Saddam or his sons are definitely not all dead. If they were, the leadership would be quick to shovel them out and tell the Americans to stop attacking.

Saddam could be either injured or fine. The message did sound canned and this might be one of the clone Saddam's or a taped Saddam from before. If it was, it's likely Saddam is severely injured or dead and his sons have ordered it performed. I suspect it was taped, based on the ability to send such a tape to Al Jazeera to broadcast would take a transport to the studio - that would take time. Saddam would have had to almost go straight from the attack to a taping. I simply doubt that happened. I suspect Al Jazeera had that tape in their possession already with orders to air it by a phone call or e-mail.

It is more than likely we hit a good number of Iraqi Generals and members of his inner council. How many we got is up in the air, but I guesstimate we got at least a half dozen top honchos.

Our special forces on the ground in Baghdad will keep an ear to the ground to find out the truth.

They now know they can't hide and they know we have folks on the ground. Saddam sure is not coming up again anytime soon if he is alive.
