Re: Shock and Awe

I don't know where the photo originally appeared. This would be useful to know. I know I spent some time plowing through Rense.com, arguably the largest anti-American repository of raw horseshit ever to grace the web, without finding the original reference. Yech. I do these things so you don't have to.

For starters, you don't know who shot those kids, or how they were injured.

Second, only an idiot would say we could pull this off without civilians getting hurt, even under the best conditions. Even so, we're doing a damn good job. I would like to hear a number of actual civilians killed so far--not Iraqi military SOBs dressed as civilians. I notice a lot of references to injuries in the peace activist sites, but not much on deaths. Anybody got something on this?

Third, it isn't our side that is deliberately surrounding military personnel and targets with their own civilians.

Fourth, we've got a ways to go before we get anywhere close to the numbers of Iraqis that Saddam Hussein has killed, and would continue to kill for years if left in power.

Fifth, Saddam Hussein could have ensured zero casualties by packing a bag and leaving town, or backing down at about thirty different points in the last years. We can see where his priorities are.
