We can vilify another country for doing EXACTLY what we do, which is arm our "ally of the moment" with whatever it wants and needs.
The defense industry and weapons sales are a BIG business. It props up regimes, it can take them out. You can arm both sides of the conflict and you can PROFIT.
Then you can MORE money from the taxpayers and build bigger and betterones and sell last years stock until the whole world is armed to the teeth.
(most retired generals are now CEO's of private defense industries)
Yes, we helped Hussein with biological and chemical weapons back in the 80's to fight Iran. And we even gave them 8 million dollars back then for their NUCLEAR program.
Sorry, I'm with Bowser on this one.
I find it hard to believe that some of you here are in denial of painful truths.
Why?
Does it make you uncomforatble?
Is the truth really so painful?
Can't you see or accept the duplicity here?
A lot of it is a shell game.
Sure took the uncomfortable questions off the front pages of the newpapers about ENRON and all those "secret" Bush/Cheney energy meetings last year around Christmas.
(Not to meeting ex-ENRON exec of all times...our Secretary of the Army!!.....do I smell more $$ here??)
And now we see that the ENRON execs PLANNED the phoney rolling blackouts just to gouge the market.
Pfftttttt....there is something to be learned every day about corporate greed of one kind or another.
