Re: Report: Rumseld Ignored Pentagon Advice on Iraq
Thankfully he did. While you've been re-living the sixties the art of war has been revised and updated. Rums is a disciple of Cheney who is a disciple of John Boyd. The idea is small flexible forces doing stuff to "get inside the enemy's decision cycle". Boyd was a modern day disciple of Sun Tsu.
The Pentagon Brass has the same kind of mentality that lost us the Vietnam Way and only knows how to fight with aq huge numerical advantage over the enemy. Thank the gods for Rums.
