A lot of people are making a lot of hay on this one Seymour Hersh article, based on a lot of anonymous sources. From the Washington Post:
Hersh, however, quoted the former intelligence official as saying the war was now a stalemate.
Much of the supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles has been expended, aircraft carriers were going to run out of precision guided bombs and there were serious maintenance problems with tanks, armored vehicles and other equipment, the article said.
"The only hope is that they can hold out until reinforcements arrive," the former official said.
If Hersh really wrote this, he should be hung up by his goddam balls.
Anything that encourages the enemy to hold out--and I can't think of anything that would do a better job of that than implying we were running out of ammo--comes damn close to providing aid and comfort to the enemy in wartime conditions.
Something like this during WWII would have had him up on charges.
Waiting for the full article.
