The US was tolerant of low level terrorism as well. Terrorism has been taken to a new level against the US and what Europe has experienced is not on that level. Your response shows you don't have a clue how strongly most of America feels about how that event changes how tolerant of threats we can be.
Time will tell as to whether or not sanctions worked. I would be amazed if WMD were easily found after all the time Iraq has been given to prepare, but if we don't find them in the rebuilding phase Bush and Co will have a lot to answer for at home and abroad. The US population understands that we have intelligence sources we can't reveal and put trust in our leadership that the case was stronger than what they could publicly reveal. Independents like me will not take kindly to that trust being abused.

Mark
