Liberation Is also the term used for what the US did for western Europe and the Jews in WW2. Horrible sins those were!
The war is first and foremost about American security, but I believe there is a strong gut reaction by most Americans to the human abuses by Saddam Hussein. You can piss on that motivation all you want, but I for one have been waiting for a decade for someone to have the nads to take the bastard out for what he was doing to his own people.
And if you are truly capable of thinking on the issue you need to think what the consequences of inaction are. I have yet to see any evidence of you acknowledging what those are just as many here refuse to acknowledge the potential threat of GW. MaryAnne is the only war opponent who has really tackled this issue. Everyone else has pretty much dodged it. How is it you can see one threat but not the other? It profoundly saddens me that in American politics so many people seem blind to rational arguments of opponents just because they are the designated opposition. I am proud that those that feel similarly now number as many as the Democrats and the Republicans.
