I've been saying that this war was over before it started since well before the the war started. I have never expected the war to become a "quagmire." Its rapid end has never been in doubt.
The simple truth is we took on a pathetic two-bit despot who did not have the support of his own people, including his own military. This was a nation that for over ten years has been fully contained and within an econmic vice-grip. They never had even the slightest chance of slowing us down.
